Community

The Francis Crick Institute will encourage connections between researchers, between disciplines, and between academic institutions, healthcare organisations and businesses.

And, because it is important that the work of The Francis Crick Institute is carried out with public awareness and approval, it will lead on initiatives to engage and inspire wider audiences.

Local community

We have developed plans with Camden Council, in consultation with local people, to bring a package of benefits that will have a meaningful impact locally. Benefits include employment and training opportunities as well as new neighbourhood facilities.

As part of its commitment to being a good neighbour, the Institute has funded community projects, supported local events, and is running liaison groups to make sure local people are kept involved and informed.

Public engagement and science education

To encourage and foster debate, the Institute will have an ambitious programme for public engagement with science featuring exhibitions, projects and events as well as lectures and visits.

Our wide educational programme will inspire future scientists and keep those already working in the field up-to-date with scientific innovations.

Scientific community

The Institute will promote connections between researchers and between disciplines. Scientists can expect to build lasting relationships with colleagues and peers through working together or attending conferences.

Building and strengthening links between researchers and clinical centres will help speed up the practical application of discoveries and contribute to improving the health of people all over the world.

  • The Francis Crick Institute will connect people in the scientific and medical professions.
  • It will reach wider audiences through extensive public outreach and community engagement.
  • The Institute aims to bring a better understanding of science and health to people of all ages and cultures.
