The Francis Crick Institute is committed to being a good neighbour and making a positive contribution to Somers Town and, more broadly, the London Borough of Camden.

Over the past three years we have discussed our plans with more than 800 local residents and community groups in more than 90 meetings.

We have explained the project and the benefits it can bring. We listened to people's concerns and made changes to the design of the building. Local people's priorities were taken into account when agreeing a package of community benefits with Camden Council.

Continuing in this spirit, we will shortly set up a community liaison group to include local residents and organisations in shaping the Institute's ongoing involvement in Somers Town. For example, through community projects or work with local schools and businesses.

Separately, our Living Centre working group is involving local people in designing the services and facilities our purpose-built Living Centre should offer to help improve people's health and wellbeing.

While building works are going on, the construction liaison group, run in partnership with the contractor, Laing O'Rourke, will help keep residents  informed about progress  and deal with any construction issues.
