Location

The Francis Crick Institute will be situated in the St Pancras and Somers Town area of the London Borough of Camden.

Its position amid a cluster of academic, scientific and medical organisations in central London will attract the very best researchers and establish the Institute as a beacon for global scientific and medical communities.

The nearby St Pancras International and King's Cross railway stations provide excellent local, national and international transport links for visitors and guest lecturers as well as easy access to other national research organisations.

Housed in a landmark building on approximately 3.6 acres (1.5 hectares) of land, The Francis Crick Institute will contribute to the regeneration of the area.

Other major projects nearby include the refurbishment of St Pancras International station and the development of a 67 acre (27 hectare) brownfield site at King's Cross which will provide housing, office and retail space.

Committed to being a good neighbour, the Institute has worked closely with Camden Council to agree a package of benefits for the local community. As part of this, the building will include a community facility, provisionally called the Living Centre, to improve health and promote healthier living.
