Early career Group Leaders in Physical Sciences applied to Biomedicine

The Francis Crick Institute is a new discovery biomedical research institute in central London. We are core-funded by Cancer Research UK, the UK Medical Research Council, and the Wellcome Trust and partnered by Imperial College London, King's College London and University College London, three of the world's leading multi-disciplinary universities.

For more details read our strategy, 'Discovery Without Boundaries'.

In this round we are looking to recruit chemists, physicists, mathematicians, computer scientists or engineers who are applying their research to biomedicine and who wish to set up an independent research programme at the Crick, linked to a cognate department at Imperial, King's or UCL.

Successful candidates will be appointed to the university department, but establish their main research base at the Crick for six years, during which time the Crick will provide some core-funded research support positions, PhD studentships, consumables, laboratory space and access to state-of-the-art technology facilities. At the end of the six years appointees will transfer their main research base to the university department with the opportunity of an ongoing Crick affiliation.

Applications from candidates with a PhD and postdoctoral experience should be submitted online at: academicrecruitment.crick.ac.uk

(Applicants will have to register for an account before submitting an application: complete CV; publications; current and proposed work; long term research vision; referee details; preferred partner university and department.)

Informal enquiries about the Crick or the application procedure can be made through: group-leader-recruitment@crick.ac.uk

More experienced researchers in physical sciences applied to biomedicine are also invited to contact us at the above address to discuss potential opportunities.

Closing date: 8 June 2017, midnight GMT
