Ali Bailey

Director of Communications and Public Engagement

Ali Bailey is director of communications and public engagement and is responsible for ensuring that the Crick involves and engages its many audiences in its mission to deliver world-class discovery science.

Before joining the Crick in April 2022, Ali was director of communications and engagement at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This was the culmination of a 16-year career as a communications director in a number of hospitals in the NHS. 

Ali previously worked as a producer at the BBC, making features and returning series about science and medicine for BBC Radio 4 and BBC World Service. She studied Biological Sciences and the History and Philosophy of Science at Jesus College, Oxford and is currently under-taking a part-time masters degree in social innovation at Cambridge Judge Business School.
