Sustainability strategy: travel

We help our staff to use low-carbon travel options when commuting and travelling for work | Part of our sustainability strategy

4% of our carbon footprint goes on people commuting to work and travelling for business.

We’re close to a station with a range of national and international connections, meaning that we’re well-positioned to minimise air travel.

We want to make it as easy as possible for our staff to choose low carbon travel options like cycling and public transport, through initiatives like bike maintenance, flexible working hours, and loans for bikes and season tickets.

15% reduction in carbon emissions from work travel by 2028

Our goals

  • 15% reduction in carbon emissions from work-related travel
  • 95% of staff commuting by sustainable transport like public transport, walking and cycling

How are we going to do this?

  • Calculating the current carbon emissions produced through our work travel by working with our travel provider
  • Raising the profile of sustainable work travel options, especially when travelling within the UK and Europe
  • Surveying our staff to establish commuting patterns and behaviour
  • Holding free bicycle maintenance sessions
