Our team studies the epigenetics, evolution and cell biology of the sex chromosomes in male (XY) and female (XX) mammals. The sex chromosomes have an important role in fertility, and influence male - female differences in susceptibility to diseases, e.g. hypertension and cancer.
We use diverse organisms and techniques, including stem cell reprogramming, next-generation sequencing (genomics, transcriptomics and chromosome conformation capture) and genome editing to better understand sex chromosome biology. We are seeking enthusiastic clinicians to contribute to the translational aspects of our research.
