Introduction
The laboratory and associated clinical research programme in South Africa is interested in understanding and intervening in tuberculosis and HIV-tuberculosis. We are particularly interested in tuberculosis meningitis and pericarditis, B and T cell immune responses, and latent tuberculosis.
We rely on materials arising from high-quality clinical studies for reverse translational studies that increase knowledge of pathogenesis and the mechanisms of treatments.
