Neural tube development

Research opportunity for a postdoctoral clinical fellow in James Briscoe's lab.

Introduction

We study the embryonic development of the spinal cord and the specification of spinal neurons such as motor neurons.

We use molecular, imaging and computational approaches that combine developmental biology, stem cell biology and genetics to understand spinal cord development, determine how different neuronal subtypes are generated and recapitulate these processes ex vivo. For these studies we use a range models including mouse and chick embryos and mouse and human embryonic stem cells.
