Programme structure
Programme structure
Fellows undertake a three-year version of the Crick PhD programme.
They are based at the Crick and register for their PhD at one of the Crick's partner universities (Imperial, King’s College London, UCL), determined by scientific fit.
Fellows are supported by:
- a Crick primary supervisor
- a secondary supervisor from one of the Crick's partner universities
- a dedicated thesis committee providing regular academic guidance
- a clinical academic mentor providing clinical insight, career mentorship and support.
Note that as fellows are enrolled in a full time PhD programme, there is limited time for participation in clinical activities and clinical activities do not form a structured part of the programme.
Research environment
Fellows at the Crick work in an academic environment underpinned by world-class technical expertise in areas ranging from computational biology and genomics to cell and structural biology and imaging.
They benefit from:
- well-resourced research labs
- state-of-the-art science technology platforms and facilities
- a supportive and stimulating environment, including Crick lectures, interest group seminars and scientific symposia
- comprehensive training and career development activities.
