Apprentices

Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships combine practical on-the-job training with study, and we try to offer apprenticeship opportunities whenever suitable jobs become available.
We encourage a broad range of people to apply (including existing staff) and especially encourage applications from our local area.
Apprentices gain technical knowledge, practical experience and wider skills that they need for their current job, and their future career. This happens through a mix of learning in the workplace, formal off-the-job training and the opportunity to practice new skills in a real work environment.
We will advertise open apprenticeships on this page, and we encourage existing staff to consider if a Professional Apprenticeship Programme would be appropriate for them as a development opportunity.
Advanced engineering apprenticeships
We're looking for enthusiastic people who want to use practical skills to make or repair things and can demonstrate previous interest in this area - perhaps a qualification or maybe a hobby that involves building or fixing things.
We're recruiting apprentices to join our Engineering teams working on
- Scientific equipment
- Mechanical devices
- Mechanical, electrical and public health systems and services
You will spend time on site at the Crick developing your role within our in-house and hard facilities management service partner (CBRE) engineering teams. You will also spend time at college, learning with other apprentices more about the technical aspects of engineering.
You can expect to complete your apprenticeship in four years. At the end of that time, you'll have a portfolio of engineering and transferable skills that are highly valued by the Crick and a huge number of other employers.
