CrickMed

CrickMed is an opportunity for non-clinical Crick group leaders to observe clinicians in a hospital setting.

Intro

Over the course of a week, lab-based researchers at the Crick shadow clinicians to share experience and expertise.

CrickMed helps laboratory-based researchers to:

  • develop a better understanding of general medical practice
  • gain an insight into the relevance of research to patients
  • build strong connections with clinicians and clinician scientists

There is also an opportunity for clinician hosts to opt into a reciprocal process, including visits to laboratories at the Crick. In the long term, it is hoped that these interactions will foster collaboration and translational science.

All placements will take place at the Crick's partner NHS Trusts (University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, King's College Hospital NHS Trust, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust). CrickMed takes place in March and October every year.
