Organisational Development (OD) and Engagement Advisor
Reports to: Organisational Development (OD) and Engagement Manager.
This is a full-time permanent position.
Summary
The OD and Engagement Advisor reports to the OD and Engagement Manager within the HR department and works with other team members to support a range of engagement activities and OD projects aligned to the HR strategy. Our HR ambition is to attract and develop outstanding scientists and futures leaders in an environment that enables collaboration, inclusivity and allows our community to thrive.
The advisor role will include a mix of supporting or managing OD projects, engaging with a range of stakeholders to determine needs and utilising data to support our delivery. We work collaboratively to design and deliver innovative and impactful solutions for our community.
Key responsibilities
These include but are not limited to:
- Plan and deliver OD and engagement projects from initial scoping through to completion and embedding into day to day practice
- Set up and manage working groups to collaborate on projects, building internal capacity so that groups are empowered and equipped to co-create solutions
- Set up, design and deliver facilitated sessions and events to support engagement activities that are participative and also make best use of digital solutions where appropriate
- Support the rollout of the ‘all staff’ engagement survey, including set up communication and engagement activities to encourage participation
- Support the set up and management of pulse surveys and other continuous listening activities
- Analyse surveys and people data, along with latest trends as required
- Support the development of the performance reviews process, ongoing feedback activities and other talent initiatives
- Support the wider OD/HR team with strategic priorities – such as EDI and wellbeing

Essential
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent);
- Proven experience working in an OD team or development team
- Demonstrable knowledge of OD and change theory and practice
- Experience organising and managing projects which involve multiple stakeholders
- A creative and pragmatic approach to delivering outcomes
- Proven ability of handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain working relationships with colleagues at all levels on a daily basis, including other senior managers
- Ability to liaise and influence within and across the team and projects to support timely delivery on project activities
- Experience running facilitated sessions, workshops or other engagement related activities both face to face and using up to date digital/online methods
- Demonstrates analytical skills, evaluating data and information to inform interventions
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good computer literacy skills with knowledge of the Microsoft Office, Outlook, SharePoint and other applications
- Able to work well in a fast-paced changing environment and be flexible if priorities change
Desirable
- OD , Learning and development or coaching qualification
- Ability in influencing and coaching managers
- Experience in a similar research / academic environment
