HR Operations Officer

Reports to: HR Director

This is a full-time, permanent position on Crick terms and conditions of employment.

Summary

The HR Operations Officer is a new role that reports to the HR Director and provides efficient support in all aspects of HR operations to assist in meeting its operational goals. This incorporates a range of responsibilities including business continuity and project coordination, data management, document preparation/writing and administrative support. This is an ideal opportunity if you are interested in working in a HR team that is part of one of the most significant UK biomedical science projects in a generation.

The role is part of the HR Operations team and will work closely with the Head of People Partnering, Resourcing Manager and HR Services Manager, in addition it will also work in collaboration with the specialist HR teams including Reward & Benefits, Organisational Development, Learning & Development, Inclusivity, and Academic Training, as well as the Service Delivery team who provide support services to our Scientists.

Key responsibilities

These include but are not limited to:

  • Provide effective and proactive support to the HR Director to facilitate the day-to-day operations within the Crick’s HR team, includes:
    • Efficient administrative support in complex and/or confidential situations including the preparation and production of documents, meeting arrangements, and recording actions
    • Draft responses to correspondence, supporting with preparation and follow-up activities of agendas for meetings, creating slide decks, spreadsheets, and smooth diary management
  • Develop and maintain a HR Operations project plan to enable activities to be actioned appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Project coordination of HR’s audit action points, the Crick’s Declaration of Interest (DoI) process, Data Retention planning and annual Rescreening process; drafting appropriate communications and ensuring responses are completed within specified deadlines
  • Populate and maintain HR people plans biannually working in collaboration with HR Director and Head of People Partnering
  • Create clear and compelling communications for internal audiences for launches of HR Operations activity
  • Review HR Operations pages on the intranet (CrickNet) and provide insight and recommendations to ensure these are current and accurate at all times. Working in collaboration with the HR Advisory and Services teams, coordinate updates and archive content where appropriate
  • Consolidate calendar activities for HR Operations into one central usable document and maintain for accuracy and prompting
  • Develop and maintain HR Operations org charts
  • Active participation in regular process improvement and project management undertakings
  • Maintain HR budget tracker and headcount management, liaising with Finance and creating reports as appropriate
  • Undertake a range of HR specific tasks as required in support of the wider HR team

Qualifications, experience, and competencies

  • Experience of working in HR and/or an administrative role
