More info

This immersive exhibition explored the latest cancer research taking place at the Crick.

Eight specially commissioned films captured conversations between cancer researchers, patients and those with unique personal perspectives on cancer, meeting to explore some of the big questions driving research.

Conversations included BBC journalist George Alagiah, who is living with bowel cancer, finding out about how Crick scientist Vivian Li is creating ‘mini-organs’ to personalise cancer treatments, and trailblazing plastic reconstructive surgeon Georgette Oni talking to Crick scientist Erik Sahai about how cancer spreads.

The exhibition began with an immersive cinematic installation, which transported you on journey into the human body. Art and science met, as you experienced stunning microscopic imagery against a powerful soundscape from sound artist Mira Calix.

Visitors could pick up a complimentary copy of the Oncozine, an artist-illustrated zine created by our patient advisory panel, detailing their frank and candid takes on cancer, the “Sh*t journey no one wants to go on”.
