The partnership is designed to support existing collaborations between Crick and EMBL researchers, and encourage new collaborations by tapping into EMBL’s already strong network of relationships across Europe.

The agreement supports collaborative projects and joint conferences, bringing together scientists from across Europe. It also enables the institutes to share facilities and expertise, developing and making the most of new technologies.

The collaboration launched at the first joint Crick-EMBL PhD conference in November 2019 at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) in Cambridge, where over 100 students from the Crick and EMBL came together to present their research, hear from the institutes’ directors and make international connections at the earliest stages of their research career.
