Decorating cell cupcakes at the Somers Town Festival

The Crick strives to be an active and trusted member of our local community. We want to share our passion for science and work with people, organisations and businesses to improve local health and wellbeing, support education and employment and reduce inequalities in the area.

Our dynamic and diverse community engagement programme has been developed in collaboration with local residents, community organisations and partners. From offering guided tours of the institute and exhibitions for local community groups, to creating art-science workshops that explore our science, and taking our research out to street festivals.

Through collaborative projects, we’re also seeking to connect with people who don’t normally come into contact with science, and to explore our science in a different way.

Communication is at the heart of our community engagement. We listen to our neighbours – whether you live, work or study nearby, or are part of a voluntary or community organisation. So if you have ideas or feedback, we’d love to hear from you.

To find out the latest news and what’s coming up locally, sign up to our quarterly Community Newsletter by emailing engage@crick.ac.uk

The Crick is actually rather inspirational just because of how it reaches out to young people and how committed it is to integrating people from different backgrounds.
