Human biology

How can we use biological knowledge to better understand, diagnose and treat human disease?

Standard content

To come up with innovative approaches to treat disease, we first need to make the discoveries in fundamental biology that will expand our understanding of the human body.

At the Crick, we’re using cutting-edge tools to study human biology in the lab. Stem cell technologies, advanced imaging tools and genomic sequencing are giving us unprecedented insights into the earliest stages of many human diseases.

Our understanding of how the body works and why it breaks down in disease will form the basis of new ways to diagnose and treat disease.
