Adam is a postdoctoral research in the Sensory Circuits and Neurotechnology Laboratory lead by Andreas Schaefer. His work focuses on algorithms to improve the quality of X-ray tomography datasets, where small, neuronal synapses can be images across large centimetre sized volumes. This hopes to open up x-ray connectomics as a technique to link the structure and function of neuronal networks.
His work involves data collection at The European Synchrotron (ESRF) in collaboration with Chris Jacobsen at Northwestern University.
Previously, he worked at the Advanced X-ray Imaging Group at UCL. Here, he worked on the design and development of a high-resolution laboratory-based X-ray phase contrast nanoscope for imaging soft tissue. Additionally, his PhD thesis was on X-ray dark-field imaging techniques.
