I am a Senior Bioinformatician in the Worldwide Influenza Centre, the WHO Collaborating Centre for Reference and Research on Influenza.
I previously worked at the Animal and Plant Health Agency, UK. During this time I lead a team responsible for the generation and analysis of whole-genome sequencing data for animal (avian and swine) influenza viruses as part of national surveillance and disease outbreak events, including the H5 avian influenza panzootic from 2020-2023.
Before working at APHA, I completed my doctoral studies at Imperial College London in the lab of Prof. Gad Frankel, where I identified and characterised type three secretion system effector proteins in Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi.
