Charlotte Douglas

Charlotte did her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Bath. During this time, she undertook a year sandwich studentship in Victor Tybulewicz' lab investigating congenital heart defects. After finishing her undergraduate studies in 2015, Charlotte joined the Turner lab as a PhD student. Charlotte is interested in the biology and inheritance of the sex chromosomes. Her project utilises cutting-edge CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing in vitro and in vivo, in order to generate large knock-ins on the X and Y chromosomes. Further, she has a interest in science communication, public engagement and events organisation, and is the chairperson for the Young Embryologist Network.
