Dennis Eickelbeck

Visiting Scientist

Dennis grew up in Germany where he studied medicine at the University of Münster (WWU) and subsequently did his PhD in Biology as a German Scholarship Foundation fellow at the Ruhr University of Bochum (RUB) in the lab of Prof. Stefan Herlitze. In his lab, he was using molecular, electrophysiological, biophysical and imaging techniques to characterize and develop optogenetic tools to monitor and modulate G protein-coupled receptor pathways in the murine brain, focusing on the neuromodulator serotonin.

After obtaining his PhD in 2020, he joined the laboratory of Dr. Florencia Iacaruso as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellow (MSCA-IF) to address how multisensory integration in the murine superior colliculus is modulated via serotonin and how this impacts attention.
