Elias Copin

PHD Student

Elias completed his BSc in Medical Biosciences at Imperial College in 2020. He then went on to pursue an MPhil in Developmental Biology in Cambridge, where he joined Professor Ewa Paluch’s lab to investigate how extracellular matrix composition influences embryonic stem cell shape and actin organisation.

In the lab
Elias joined the QSCB lab in September 2022 as part of the Crick PhD program. He is interested in understanding cell fate decisions, and for his PhD project, Elias will be exploring the interplay between the cell cycle and cell fate during human embryonic stem cell differentiation.

Outside the lab
Squash, travelling, climbing, eating.
