Haskan did his undergraduate studies in Genetics at the University of Cambridge. He completed his MPhil degree at the University of Cambridge in the lab of Dr Michael Imbeault, studying epigenetics and the evolution of KRAB zinc finger proteins.
Haskan has also undertaken research in the field of epigenetics in the labs of Professor Julie Ahringer at the University of Cambridge and Professor Rob Martienssen at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, New York. Additionally, he has worked in research and development at Illumina, the world leader in DNA sequencing technologies. Haskan joined the Turner Lab in 2019.
