Maddalena Cerrone

CLINICAL FELLOW - STUDENT

I am a Clinical PhD Fellow at the Crick in the Tuberculosis Wilkinson R Lab and at Imperial College London, and Honorary Infectious Diseases specialist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Trust.

Following the completion of a fellowship in viral immunology at the University of Oxford and Milan, I joined a major clinical trial unit in London (SSCR) as a co-investigator in multiple Infectious Diseases Phase I-III clinical trials and focusing my research on anti-HIV and anti-tuberculosis agents. I was lately appointed by Imperial College as Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Cape Town to investigate different clinical and immunological aspects of HIV-associated tuberculosis.

My PhD project is looking at elucidating protective mechanisms of T-cell responses against tuberculosis in human cohorts.
