Marco Ortiz

Marco Ortiz received his bachelors degree in genomic sciences from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). This program gave him the opportunity to combine biology, bioinformatics and mathematical modeling. Whils at the program, Marco participated in a research project involving microRNAs in plants. At the ned of his bachelor, Marco made an internship and later worked as a research specialist in Judith Kimble lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he studied germline stem cell in the nematode c. elegans. Currently, Marco is a UCL PhD student at the Francis Crick Institute where he study Sonic hedgehog signaling role in adult hippocampal neurogenesis.
