Marion Delphin

Postdoctoral Fellow

Marion Delphin completed her PhD studies under the direction of Dr. Julie Lucifora, in the HepVir team headed up by Dr. David Durantel (CIRI, Lyon - France). Her work participated in unravelling the specific mechanisms of action of the Hepatitis B and D Viruses on hepatic macrophages. She is now undertaking a postdoctoral training fellow position with Prof. Philippa Matthews. She is investigating how the immune system is modulated by specific sequences/strains of the Hepatitis B Virus,  towards finding more relevant and reliable biomarkers for patient handling and\or treatment responsiveness. Marion is also a member of (1) the Crick's Equity Diversity Inclusivity team, in the Athena Swan subgroup (an international framework used to support gender and race equality within higher education and research) and she participated with the Prof. Matthews in scientific popularization around vaccine hesitancy (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OO3au4JOyEY&ab_channel=DrLizzieBurns) as well as organizing a meeting bringing together researchers/clinicians/patients advocate working/living with the Hepatitis B Virus (HBV FOCUS meeting). She is also in the organizing committee of the London Infection PostDoc Network symposium (https://londoninfection.wixsite.com/home) .
