Patricia graduated with first class honours degree in Biochemistry at University College London, where she did her undergraduate project on microbiome metagenomics. After graduating, she started an MRes in Biomedical and Molecular Sciences Research at King’s College London. During this time, she studied the role of intestinal type 1 innate lymphoid cells using small intestinal organoid in vitro co-culture system.

In her PhD, she is studying the dynamics of endomembrane repair in macrophages during Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) infection.
