Rute Ferreira

Postdoctoral Fellow

Rute Ferreira obtained her PhD in 2015 in the laboratory of Dr Behrens at the London Research Institute and UCL after completing a master degree in Cancer Cell and Molecular biology at the University of Leicester in association with Leicester Royal Infirmary. During her postgraduate studies, Rute specialized in the biology of cancer stem cells in the context of pancreatic cancer.

In 2019, Rute joined the Tumour-Host interaction laboratory led by Dr Malanchi at the Francis Crick Institute for her postdoctoral research. Capitalizing on her pancreatic expertise, Rute is now exploring neuro-immune interactions that regulate pancreatic cancer initiation and progression.
