Scott Curran

POSTDOCTORAL TRAINING FELLOW

I joined the Cell Cycle Laboratory as a Postdoctoral Training Fellow in early 2016.

Through a combination of live-cell microscopy and imaging flow cytometry I have primarily focussed on how the spatial dynamics and expression levels of cell cycle implicated proteins change through the Schizosaccharomyces pombe (fission yeast) cell cycle.

I am currently a co-organiser of the online seminar series pombeTalks (Register for future talks here: http://bitly.ws/8Mrm)

Previously, I received an undergraduate Genetics, B.Sc. (Hons) from the University of Manchester.  Next, I undertook a PhD  supervised by Prof. Buzz Baum at the MRC-LMCB, UCL. Here I described a role for Myosin-II dependent junction fluctuations in guiding epithelial tissue ordering in the Drosophila pupal notum.

On the job market in Spring 2022.
