Schumann Lab and Bertozzi

Prof. Carolyn Bertozzi (Stanford University) visited the Chemical Glycobiology Laboratory.

Chemical Biologist and Glycobiology pioneer Prof. Carolyn Bertozzi visited the Francis Crick Institute in summer 2019 and spent a glycan-enriched day talking to staff and students including a "project pitch" session with the Schumann Lab (photo). Prof. Bertozzi is the Anne T. and Robert M. Bass Professor of Chemical & Systems Biology and Radiology (by courtesy) at Stanford University, and the co-Director of the Stanford ChEM-H institute. She has revolutionised the field of Chemical Biology, coining the term "bioorthogonal chemistry" and allowing chemists and biologists around the globe to bridge disciplines.
