The Crick BioImage Analysis Symposium (CBIAS) aims to showcase image analysis techniques to biomedical researchers and to demonstrate how such approaches can help them advance their research.
The symposium will bring together life scientists and leading developers of bioimage analysis methods to illustrate how such approaches can answer defined biological questions.
The ability to routinely acquire large, multi-dimensional datasets with modern microscopy techniques is revolutionising biomedical research. In order to fully realise the benefits of such imaging technologies, automated analysis pipelines are needed, but many life scientists lack the necessary expertise to design and execute such analyses.
The key objectives of the symposium are:
- Inform biomedical researchers of the possibilities that image analysis can deliver for their research
- Establish links between life science researchers and image analysis experts
- Foster the development of an image analysis network, with the Crick as its central hub
Registration is now open.
Abstract Submission
Abstract submission deadline is 23:00 (BST) on Sunday, September 3rd 2023.
All symposium participants are invited to submit an abstract for a poster presentation. Up to eight of these abstracts will be selected by the scientific organisers for oral presentations in the main symposium program. We would like to particularly encourage early-career researchers (PhD students, Post-Docs, etc.) to submit.
We welcome submissions on all aspects of bioimage analysis, regardless of sample type or imaging modality, including, but not limited to:
- Common Analysis Tasks: Image Segmentation, Object Tracking, etc.
- AI & Machine/Deep Learning
- New Tools for BioImage Analysis
- Big Data Handling
- Image Stitching/Fusion/Registration
- Teaching/Training of Image Analysis
- Quality Control in Imaging & Analysis
- Modelling
- Open Science
- Career Development
- Public Outreach
You will receive a link to the abstract submission form after completing the registration process. Please contact cbias@crick.ac.uk if you have any questions.
Programme
- Symposium Start: 10:30, Monday November 20th
- Symposium Finish: 16:30, Tuesday November 21st
More details will be made available in September 2023 once talks have been selected from submitted abstracts.
CBIAS Training Workshop
On Wednesday, November 22nd, we will be organising a day-long introductory napari (https://napari.org) workshop. The aims of the workshop will be:
• to introduce image analysts to napari
• help them perform some basic analysis tasks
• get them started with implementing plugins
The workshop will be open to everyone attending the CBIAS symposium, but places will be limited. More details will be available soon.
