About Cut + Paste Nights

Join us for a free series of evening encounters to take a deep dive into some of the most captivating areas challenging what it means to being human in today’s world.  

Each week we’ll be welcoming in special guests alongside our scientists from the Crick, to explore the topic of genome editing (the ability to change our DNA) from different and unique perspectives.

Enjoy a free alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage, explore the Cut+ Paste exhibition, and get crafty with our hands-on activity!

What's fair?

The technology of genome editing has the potential to change the future of humanity. It could eradicate disease, reduce global warming and change the way we live - but technological innovations are expensive. How accessible will the technology be at a global scale? And what does it mean for health equality across the world? 

Marie Meudec is a social scientist with a passion for health equity, anti-discrimination and participatory and qualitative methodologies. She is currently working in the Department of Public Health of the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Belgium. 

Rifdat Aoidi is a Crick scientist interested in in utero development trying to understand heart development in Down Syndrome.
