Yet to be titled
The feels momentous
standing in this queue feels so new
but I feel related to everyone
I have faith in all the scientists
thank you to everyone
it feels like an exciting trip out
it's what we all want
1000 vaccines every day
like going on a pilgramige
humanity is fragile but full of hope
so many memories never made
freedom is close
held my breath for a year
a moment for me
protecting myself and others
new threshold to a new normal
one small jab for me
science in action
over 18'000 vaccines so far
one huge booster shot for mankind
outside the sun is shining
I want to feel safer
helps us bring this to an end
days like this make history
imaging doctors high-fiving in corridors
hopefully we can hug again
smiles mastered through masks
made it here
close to....
a year differs for one to person to a next
means more for us
others will join in
normally feel nervous
acting with compassion
far from over
kind of surreal
safer to others
end the disorientation
stories we'll all share
gaining momentum
masking joy with a British hush
here's to hugs and holidays

Recording
Artistic statement
- Following the theme of humanity I wanted to make sure the language of this piece paid homage to the human voices that contributed to the interviews that inspired this commission. Thank you to all the visitors and volunteers for their honesty and hard work.
- The structure of the poem is inspired by the shape of important molecules in biology and by the science behind the vaccines. The first and third columns represent the shape of mRNA molecules, and the centre of the poem represents the structure of DNA.
- In celebration of all the small acts that are contributing to a bigger picture, this poem is written so that it can be read in a variety of ways. You can choose to go across the three columns horizontally or start with column one then move across by column. Or maybe there are other ways that I am yet to discover myself. It is a collection of the small thoughts and big statements that highlight how we are all working together to contribute to something much bigger
- Anigoo raacaya mawduuca aadamaha waxaan rabay in aan hubiyo in hadalka maansadani uu sharaf siiyo codadka aadamaha ee qayb ka dhiibtay waraysiyadii niyad geliyey xilsaarkan. Waxaan booqdeyaasha iyo mutaddawaciinta dhammaantood uga mahad celinayaa daacaddooda iyo dadaalkooda badan.
- Qaabdhismeedka gabayga waxaa ka fikrad bixiyey qaabka mulukiyuulyada muhiimka ah ee ku jira cilmiga noolaha iyo cilmisayniska ka dambeeya tallaallada. Safka taagan ee koowaad iyo midka saddexaad waxay matalayaan qaabka mulukiyuulyada mRNA, waxuuna bartahama gabaygu matalayaa qaabdhismeedka hiddesidaha DNA.
- Si loo maamuso dhammaan falalka yar yar ee qayb ka dhiibanaya waxqabadka ballaaran, gabaygan waxaa loo qoray si loogu akhrin karo habab kaladuwan. Waxaad dooran kartaa in aad saddexda saf ee taagan bidix ilaa midig ugu kala gudubto ama ku bilow safka taagan ee koowaad ka dib safafka taagan mid mid ugu kala guur. Ama laga yaabo in ay jiraan habab kaloo aanan anigu weli soo helin. Waxaa la iskugu soo ururiyey afkaarta gaagaaban iyo bayaannada ballaaran ee lagu muujinayo in aan dhammaanteen wada shaqaynayno si aan qayb uga dhiibanno wax aad u sii ballaaran.
- মানবতার থিম অবলম্বন করে, আমি চেয়েছি যাতে এই লেখার ভাষা যেন এই লেখার অনুপ্ররণাদয়ক সেইসব সাক্ষাৎকারের মানুষের কণ্ঠের প্রতিফলন হয়। তাদের সততা ও কঠিন পরিশ্রমের জন্য সমস্ত পরিদর্শক ও স্বেচ্ছাসেবকদের ধন্যবাদ।
- এই কবিতার কাঠামোর মূল অনুপ্রেরণা হল জীববিজ্ঞানের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ মলিকিউলের আকার এবং টিকার পিছনে বিজ্ঞান। প্রথম ও তৃতীয় সারিটি প্রদর্শন করে mRNA মলিকিউলের আকার এবং এই কবিতার কেন্দ্রটি প্রদর্শন করে DNA-র কাঠামো।
- একটি বৃহৎ কর্মকাণ্ড যে ছোটো ছোটো কাজের দ্বারা তৈরি হয়, সেগুলিকে স্বীকৃতি দিতে এই কবিতাটি লেখা হয়েছে যাতে সেটি বিভিন্ন ভাবে পাঠ করা যায়। আপনি পাশাপাশি তিনটি স্তম্ভ পড়তে পারেন অথবা স্তম্ভ এক থেকে শুরু করে পরবর্তী স্তম্ভের দিকে যেতে পারেন। অথবা অন্য কোনোভাবে দেখতে পারেম, যা এখনও আমি জানি না। এটি হল ছোটো ছোটো ভাবনা-চিন্তা ও বড়সড় বিবৃতির সংকলন, যা হাইলািট করছে কীভাবে একসাথে আমরা কাজ করছি যাতে একটি বড়সড় বাধা অতিক্রম করা যায়।
