We will be part of Open House London, the capital's largest annual festival of architecture and design.
The Francis Crick Institute is housed in a striking new building designed by architects HOK with PLP Architecture. This new, world-class, interdisciplinary biomedical research centre occupies a distinctive steel, glass and terracotta-clad building in the heart of Kings Cross in central London. Its innovative design fosters scientific collaboration between the researchers working within the labs, and engagement with public audiences through exhibitions and events in the Crick's public spaces.
Hear about the cutting edge research that takes place at the Crick from our scientists and what a day at the Crick is like for our building services team. We’ll also be hearing about designing a building for discovery from the architects. The talks will be taking place at 12:00, 13:00, 14:00 and 15:00. Further details about talks will be available soon.
Our popular science buskers will be roaming in our public spaces with short, fun, engaging science busks and we will be running a meet a scientist session giving you an opportunity to chat informally to our scientists.
We have a limited number of guided building tours of the Francis Crick Institute available to book during this on the 22 September.
Places are limited and must be booked in advance via Eventbrite.
Please note that this booking is only to reserve a timed slot on one of our building tours. There is no need to book in advance to visit the Crick's public spaces during Open House. You are welcome to drop in anytime between 10.00-16.00 to visit our Gallery, cafe and free exhibition, and speak to our friendly staff.
Please note: We regret that we cannot accommodate under 16s on our tours due to health and safety restrictions.
