Talkaoke: Editing our genes

This summer take a seat at the Talkaoke table – the pop-up science talk show where anyone can join the conversation. Plus meet our friendly scientists and find out about how they make the science happen.

Join the conversation

Free, outdoors, drop-in!

Join us in front of the Crick building, next to St Pancras station

Our Meet a Scientist sessions are intended to promote informal conversations between Crick scientists and visitors. These sessions are most suitable for individuals and small groups. Age guidance 8+.

New genome editing tools such as CRISPR are changing how science is done, allowing scientists to alter DNA more quickly, easily and accurately. But how should we use these tools and who should decide? We’ll be delving into the science and ethics of genome editing around the Talkaoke table – the pop-up science talk show where anyone can join the conversation. Take a seat, hear from scientists who use these tools in their daily research, and explore some of life’s biggest questions.

Our popular Meet a Scientist sessions will also be running during this event. Bring your curiosity, have a chat and find out about life in the lab.
