The immune system needs to be tightly regulated to maintain homeostasis. Efficient immune responses are required to detect and eliminate toxins, pathogens and transformed cells, but controlling the timing and extent of responses is crucial to avoid collateral tissue damage and autoimmunity, while promote healing. This two-day event will highlight cutting edge research from across London and beyond that explores what can go right or wrong in these processes. 

Areas including host-pathogen interaction, autoimmunity, immunoregulation, neurodegeneration and cancer immunology will be represented by nineteen high-profile invited speakers. Their talks will be interspersed with short talks selected from submitted abstracts to allow early career researchers to present their work. Keynote presentations from Professor Bana Jabri (Director of Institut Imagine, Paris) and Professor Chris Buckley (Kennedy Institute, University of Oxford) will start off and finish the event. Poster sessions on both days will give attendees the opportunity to present their work and to network with other scientists at the Symposium.
